WELL BUILT: Built Tough. With
reasonable care an Outback Stove should last the average hunter
close to a lifetime. The top and door are made of 10 gauge steel
(.135"). The rest is made of 12 gauge steel (.105"). The
rest is made of 12 gauge steel (.105"). The round part is a
rolled piece of steel -- not a barrel. Outback stoves are built
sturdy enough so that no protective heat liners are needed to keep
it from warping or burning out.
SPECIAL FEATURES: Outback Stoves
have 2 separeate door latches, one is a dead bolt type, which you
slide in front of the door after it is closed, then give it a half
turn to lock it tight. This latch is used to secure the stove when
it's packed up. the second latch is a hook type and is used when
the stove is working. There is a wire handle that allows you to
open and close the door without burning your fingers or having to
use gloves, pliers, sticks, etc. The slide damper can also be opened
or closed using the wire handle.
EFFICIENT: Being all welded,
the stove is airtight, which allows you to precisely regulate the
rate of burn. You can stoke the stove full of wood at night and
shut the damper almost all the way and get a nice, even burn overnight,
instead of roasting for a couple of hours and then freezing till
morning like some stoves that can't be shut down properly. The round
shape of an Outback Stove gives you more cubic feet of fire box
than a square stove using the same amount of steel. The rond design
also gives a different, more efficient flame npattern than a square
stoves. The steel used in the stoves holds heat longer and gives
off more radiant heat than a stove made of thinner sheet metal.
WARP FREE DESIGN: The round
cylinder allows the stove to expand and contract uniformly, virtually
eliminating any warpage. Ashes settle to the bottom of the round
cylinder, keep heat off of the tent floor and prevent stove burnout.
OUTBACK GUARANTEE: Outback
Stoves are guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship
for as long as you own them and use your stove for the purpose it
was intended.
ACCESSORIES: All of the accessories
listed will pack inside the stove, making a compact unit for transporting.
Stoves have fittings on both sides of the top for using the warming
tray and hot water heater. These will fit on either side so that
you can set it up however you want to.
WARMING TRAY: Made of 14 gauge steel,
fits on the side of the top, giving more flat surface area which
is very handy if you are cookinhg several items at the same time.
When one pan is done, slide it onto the warming tray and it will
stay warm, but not over cook. It is also a good place to keep
a coffee pot.
HOT WATER HEATER: Made of 20 gauge
stainless steel with all welded seams, safe for cooking and drinking
use. Guaranteed not to leak, ever. Full length lid faucet in the
middle allows use on either side of stove. No-drip plastic faucet
is easy to use, 1/2 turn to full open and won't melt or get too
hot for your fingers. Do not allow to get empty.
Water heaters will heat 40 degree water to 130 degrees in 45
minutes if you start with a cold stove. If stove is hot, you can
get the same result in 25 minutes. If you keep a hot fire going,
it will eventually boil. Normal stove temperatures during use
will be 500-650 degrees.
Burn time depends upon type of wood used and how full stove is
stoked. If you have a full hot water heater and use a stove pipe
damper, temperature fluctuations can be smoothed out to a range
of anout 50 degrees.
GRATE: Helps give fire a smoother
draft. A must if you plan to burn coal or charcoal briquettes.
Burn time and heat output can be greatly increased, especially
in the small Scout stoves by using charcoal. This really helps
at night and is also great for ice fishing.
NESTING STOVEPIPE: Smallest piece
fits inside next larger size and so on. Pieces must be removed
and stacked in reverse order for use. Pipe is bigger at the top
than the bottom so creosote stays inside the pipe. If inside of
pipe becomes too dirty to stack pieces together, then simply stack
pieces 1-3-5 together and 2-4 together.
STOVE PIPE DAMPER: Helps get more
heat out of stove, especially at night. Removes easily so pipe
can be stacked. Strongly recommended if using 5" or 6"
pipe.
SPARK ARRESTOR: Made of wire mesh,
helps keep your tent and the forest in one piece. Required in
some states.
STOVE PIPE COLLAR: 2 piece sheet
metal pipe collar for tents without a stovepipe hole. Installs
easily with a pocket knife. Put one piece on either side of canvas,
lock together and cut out canvas inside circle. Can be used with
a piece of plastic or screen in the summer time to keep rain or
bugs out.
Outback Stoves are the perfect solution for area designated "No
Open Fires."
